A Return To Soul Forward Spirituality
In today’s spiritual landscape, there are countless teachings, online containers, rituals, and spiritual personalities to follow.
Social media offers a constant stream of images of “spiritual lives”, ceremonies in flowing garments, aesthetic altars, and mystical archetypes. You may be wondering: Is this really what spirituality is meant to be?
Creating From Soul, Not Metrics
Spiritual creators are often people who feel called to bring something invisible into form. Yet we often get sucked into measuring our work by outcomes: followers, revenue, engagement. When these metrics dominate the process, they disrupt the original inspiration. A “Soul-Forward” path (credit to Diomira for coining this phrase) is a different orientation: create first from the Soul, and allow the work to serve others if it is meant to.
When Success Isn’t Enough
Many people achieve success in business or spirituality yet still feel something is missing. This often happens when creations are driven by market demand or an agenda rather than the deeper impulse of the Soul.
Even work that performs well externally can feel empty if it was never aligned with the original spark within. A Soul-forward path asks: what does my Soul actually want to bring into the world?
The Courage to Be humble
One of the most important qualities on the spiritual path is humility. Even experienced practitioners reach moments where they realise their understanding needs to deepen.
Rather than defending what we already know, a Soul-forward path asks us to remain eternal students.
Growth often begins the moment we are willing to admit, there is more for me to learn.
The Dynamics That Appear in Spiritual Spaces
Spiritual communities are not immune to human dynamics. Comparison, competition, and unconscious triggers often arise when people gather in transformational spaces. Learning to recognise & navigate these dynamics is part of spiritual maturity.
Holding sacred space requires awareness not only of spiritual practices, but also of the emotional and energetic dynamics within a group.
Beyond Spiritual Aesthetics
Social media has created a strong visual culture around spirituality.
Ritual imagery, archetypal clothing, and carefully curated “spiritual lives” can easily become confused with the work itself. But real spiritual development is rarely visible.
It shows up as deeper discernment, clearer perception, and greater integrity. Soul-forward spirituality is not something you look like.
It is something you deeply embody and become.
The Importance of Discernment
In a world full of conflicting teachings and voices, discernment becomes essential. Over time, sincere practitioners learn to feel the energy behind someone’s work, beyond branding, charisma, or presentation.
Discernment grows slowly through experience, humility, and sincere inner work.
And once it develops,
it becomes one of the most reliable guides on the path.
Returning to the Soul-Forward Path
Spirituality was never meant to be a performance. It is not about aesthetics, trends, or rapid authority
or fame. It is about sincerity, integrity, and a genuine relationship with the unseen.
Being Soul-forward means allowing the Soul, rather than the marketplace or collective trends, to guide your work. In a time of spiritual noise, returning to that deeper orientation may be one of the most important steps a seeker can take.
