The Ego Can Be Grandiose And Better Than Everyone.

The ego can be grandiose and better than everyone. It can also offer its work for free.

Both are ego, neither is Soul.

Recently someone said to me:

"I don't work with ego because my sessions are free."

I understood exactly what they meant, and I also knew they had it backwards. Offering your work for free isn't the absence of ego. It's ego in its most seductive form, the martyr, the selfless one, the healer who rises above money.

People love you when you're free or cheap. You get called a true healer, a “real” spiritual person.

And underneath that recognition, your Soul is slowly starving.

The Soul needs an energy exchange so it can have the experiences it came here to have.

This isn't a mindset reframe or a business strategy. It's physics, energy moves and it has to move in both directions, or it stagnates. Making yourself and your Soul poor is not virtuous. It's an outdated programme, and it was never yours to begin with.

The shadow beings want healers to be broke.

A broke healer can't fund their work, can't hold their space, can't create real change in the collective. They stay small, stay exhausted, stay dependent on validation from the people who call them "pure" for not charging. This lie has been running through healer communities for generations and most of us bought into it without question, including me.

I left a six-figure corporate career to be of service.

I worked for minimum wage for years. I gave and gave and gave. And people still projected that I was doing it "for the money", as though wanting to be paid for a decade of sacrifice and study was something shameful.

It took years of my own shadow journeys to realise none of that was my stuff. I had also been the judge, “oh, they're charging too much”, until I understood that what someone charges and who chooses to pay it is none of my business. There is a market for every level.

I have watched practitioners have a panic attack over raising their prices by $20.

Not because they don't know their worth but because they are terrified of being seen as wanting money. As if wanting to be adequately paid for years of training, initiation, and lived experience is something to be ashamed of.

Highly paid healers used to trigger me too, now I celebrate them. That shift didn't happen by thinking differently. It happened by going into my shadows and finding what was actually there.

If the idea of charging what your work is actually worth still tightens your chest, that's not a pricing problem.

That's a wound with a shadow sidekick you haven't met yet.

And if you're still somewhere in the belief that the Soul loves being poor, we have real work to do.
